Skylon takes its name from the original iconic structure that was built for the 1951 Festival of Britain. The restaurant’s design echoes the style of the Royal Festival Hall during the same period, with added unique contemporary touches.
The main restaurant features modern British cuisine, while the grill offers a more informal menu and relaxed atmosphere. The two dining ares are separated by a stunning centrepiece bar; of all the bars on the Southbank, Skylon stands out for the quality of its cocktails and extensive wine list. Our talented team of mixologists recreate the classics but are constantly innovating. Take a seat at the bar and watch them at work or relax in the Riverview lounge area and take in the views of the Southbank and Thames below.
With its beautiful views of the Southbank and unique atmosphere, Skylon also rivals any event space in London. The natural energy and glamour of Sklyon makes it the ideal venue for large groups bookings, birthday parties or business meals with a difference. The venue offers attractive interiors as well as styling flexibility should you wish to transform the space completely, or simply keep it as it is. Get the wow factor for any exclusive private party or celebration – from intimate private dinners to large group celebrations for up to 300 people or standing receptions of up to 500 people. If you’re looking for something a little more intimate we can accommodate smaller group bookings of up to 150 guests standing or 120 guests for seated events.
The River View reception area is our semi-private dining space and boasts outstanding views over the bustling South Bank and River Thames.
Situated in the middle of the restaurant, this space gives diners an uninterrupted view while they enjoy the atmosphere from the restaurant and bar. This space is perfect for corporate events and special occasions and is suitable for either a seated dinner for 50 guest or standing receptions for up to 60 guests.
